For the Distributech event, I designed the user interface for an iPad app for Caterpillar. The app aims to streamline the user experience for event attendees by allowing them to quickly identify their professional role and industry, providing personalized content and solutions.
The design process began with understanding the diverse roles and industries Caterpillar serves. I crafted a clean, intuitive UI with a role selection screen featuring options like Consulting Engineer, Electrical Contractor, Owner Facility Manager, Plant Manager, Sustainability Manager, Utility Manager, and Municipality Utility Manager. Each role is represented by a distinct icon and highlighted with Caterpillar's signature yellow for easy recognition.
Once a role is selected, users are guided to an industry selection screen, where they can choose from categories such as Agriculture, Commercial Business, Construction, Data Centers, Education, Manufacturing, and more. This personalized approach ensures that users receive relevant information tailored to their specific needs and objectives.
The design includes high-quality background images of industrial settings, reinforcing Caterpillar's brand identity and the professional context of the app. The UI elements are designed to be touch-friendly, with clear navigation buttons and a streamlined layout to enhance usability.
This project highlights my ability to create engaging, user-centric designs that cater to specific client needs, ensuring a seamless experience for event attendees and effectively showcasing Caterpillar's solutions.
