This project involves the creation of a detailed replica of the "Thorn" hand cannon from the Destiny universe, utilizing 3D printing technology. The project encompassed several stages, including design, 3D printing, assembly, painting, and electronic enhancements.
The hand cannon was printed in multiple parts using durable filament, ensuring detailed accuracy and a sturdy build. The pieces were carefully assembled, maintaining structural integrity and functionality. Includes interactive components to enhance the realism: The trigger pulls back the hammer, simulating the action of a working firearm. The chamber rotates out, allowing slugs to be inserted, mimicking the loading process of the actual in-game weapon. The hand cannon was meticulously painted to match the iconic look of the in-game Thorn, with attention to texture and shading to bring out the intricate designs. Green LEDs were installed within the body of the gun, glowing through specific areas to replicate the eerie, otherworldly aura that defines Thorn in the Destiny universe.
